There's a new "Game On" in town, so for all you fanatics, followers, and fancy flight holders here's your chance to step up to the line for a very good cause. Darts for Dollars founder, Larry Watson, was born in Dublin and has lived in New York City for many years. He's an Average "A" league darts player, whose son, USMC vet was diagnosed with Leukemia and passed away in January of this year. His younger sister sadly passed away recently with breast cancer.
Larry will not be going around with a collection box, he will simply ask that if you see him playing at a venue, that you sign up to play him one game of 1001 straight in and sponsor $1 or more for every 100+ and $5 or more for every 180 he hits against you. It won't matter whether Larry wins or loses any or all of the games as long as he hits the numbers. You don't even have to play to help, you can also sponsor one or more of the games if you choose. Alternatively, if you are a bar owner or bartender that boasts a good player or two, you can organize a group of players to play against him. The two chosen charities (http://www.dartsfordollars.com) whose donations will be split between are The American Breast Cancer Society, particularly aiming at free screening for breast cancer, and the Imus Ranch for Kids (www.imusranch.com ). Any one individual or company can help through sponsorship at the events or just by backing Larry any dollar amount you choose for his effort.
OK, OK, so you say you're not a fan of darts, that's fine. Then let your brains do the talking and your answers earn the bragging rights prize with organized "Quiz Game Nights" available any night at your favorite local. So, if you are one of those people that keep saying to themselves, "I want to do something," but never get around to doing anything, then now is your chance. Let's all try and get this campaign on the road and together we might get something done.
Thank you in advance for your help and support. For more information please contact Larry Watson at Home: (212) 736-5564 Work: (212) 736-3881 or Cell Phone: (917) 468-107. E-mail: dartsfordollars@gmail.com
