J.P. Clarke's held their 9th Annual Golf Outing last Monday, June 6 at The Putnam National Golf Course in Putnam, N. Y. There was an after-party that followed in the spacious beer garden of J.P. Clarke's along with a large buffet dinner. Many awards and prizes were given out to the participants of this annual event. All proceeds raised are donated in aid of the Aisiling Irish Community Center in Yonkers, NY.

J.P.Clarke's held its tenth annual golf outing last Monday, May 15th, at the Links at Unionvale Golf Course. The first of the four Big Major Tournaments of the 2006 season, it was a day that started with rain and lots of it, but ended with sunshine and smiles, as everyone who attended enjoyed the beautiful golf course and the opportunity to raise money for a good cause. All proceeds raised from this class act event are donated to the Aisling Irish Community Center. The next "Major" of the year will be held by Behan's on Monday, July 17th, follow by J.C. Mac's on Friday, July 28th. Finishing up the 2006 season, Rory Dolan's/Rambling House will take it back to The Links for an Autumn start on Monday, October 2nd, which will then determine this year's Green Jacket Winners. Please sigh up early for all these events, as a good turn out ensures a large donation to each bar's worthy cause.

Dierdre Beglan is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support she received from the community at the recent fundraiser held at J.P. Clarke's Saloon in Yonkers, NY on Sunday, May 12th.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Team In Training is a program designed to raise money and awareness of this disease and also to challenge the participants to achieve a lifetime goal while enjoying the experience.
Dierdre Beglan, a Woodlawn native, is taking on this challenge. Most of us can only dream about or watch on TV and say "Wow, I'd love to attempt that some day." On July 22nd, 2007, Deirdre will swim 1 mile, cycle 26 miles, and then run 6.2 miles.
The fund raiser at J.P.Clarke's was a great success which raised $4,700 along with over $900 raised online at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Team In Training website. J.P. Clarke's 11th Annual Golf Outing
J.P.Clarke's held its eleventh annual golf outing last Monday, June 11th, at the Links at Unionvale Golf Course. The first of the "Big Major Tournaments" of the 2007 season, it was a picture perfect day with the sun shining bright, and the clubs swinging right. All 136 players who attened enjoyed the beautiful golf course and the opportunity to raise money for a good cause. All proceeds raised from this first of a full season of Major Tourmanaments are donated to the Aisling Irish Community Center.
1st Low Grose winner went to Tim Casey (74), 2nd Low Grose was Joe Reids, 1st Low Net Richie McDean (65), 2nd was Ray Hogan (67). 1st in the Calaway System was Tom Noels (35), 2nd was Connie Reilly (35), Longest Drive on 15th was Dermot Cassidy, Closest to pin on 3rd Tom Bennett, Honest Golfer of the day went to Mac, Joe Hallahan won the $600 prize for being only 9 inches from hole. 1st prize for best foursome was given to Cavan Club Members Tom Bowes, Jim McCormack, Gabriel McMahon, and Padraic Fagan, with 2nd place foursome going to Sean McTaige, Derek Moran, Pat Reynolds, and Gerry Reilly.
With the elite bars running their own "Major Golf Tournament" it's a great opportunity for the top players in the area to rise to the top and claim the ultimate prize of "2007 Major Champion of the Year" at the end of the season. Last years champion was Paul Coughlin who holds title to the "2006 Green Jacket". This year is no diffrent as Behan's, J.C. Mac's, Danny Mac's, Rambling House, and Rory Dolan's will all offer a day out on the greens searching for the best of the best. Sign up early for these enjoyable and worthy events.

A few weeks back New York was bombarded with Leitrim supporters to take in the Connaught County Championship, while the game came and went without much excitement the same can't be said for the action around town. Green and Gold were present everywhere you looked. The buzz was about and everyone came out to see, as there's always fun to be had when there's a few extra thousand heads in the hood.
J.P.Clarke's seemed to be bar central as the loyal followers streamed heavily in out of the Salon all week long. Monday the bar hosted a going away party for the team which everyone turned out to say their farewells to the winners of the Connaght Championship. A good week was had by all, NY can settle down again till the coming of next May's team.
